When the Son of God came to earth He spoke of being the light of the world in John 8:12.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said,
“I Am the light of the world…
…whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but
will have the LIGHT OF LIFE.”
John 8:12 NIV
He takes it further and speaks of us being lights as well, not meant to be hidden but SEEN.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16 NIV
A Lighthouse is designed to serve as an aid in navigation, warning of hazards, establishment of position, and guidance to destinations. Additionally, they often mark the entrance to a location. Lighthouses do this by illuminating light and shining bright in the darkness. They can be seen from great distances, representing strength, safety and most importantly HOPE.
The light has and always will be a power source, and representation of our Lord. I9 meets at the Lighthouse and prays together corporately with you in your homes. We are meant to unite together and be beacons of hope to this lost world.
We see Lighthouses rising up all over this territory bonding believers together and providing safe havens for weary travellers in this life. So light the beacon, be the beacon and let your light shine as we usher in the return of our Lord, by partnering with the Holy Spirit in prayer.
